2026 Honda City Facelift Launched at ₹11.99 Lakh New Design

Honda Cars India has introduced the 2026 Honda City facelift, giving its popular sedan a fresh new look, enhanced technology and several comfort upgrades. Alongside the updated City, Honda has also showcased the all-new ZR-V e:HEV hybrid SUV in India, highlighting the company’s renewed focus on premium vehicles and advanced hybrid technology.

The Honda City has remained one of the most trusted sedans in the Indian market for years, thanks to its comfortable cabin, refined engine and strong brand reputation. With this latest update, Honda aims to keep the City competitive in a market increasingly dominated by SUVs while also attracting buyers looking for a premium and feature-rich sedan.

Sharper Styling Gives the City a More Premium Presence

The 2026 Honda City receives noticeable exterior updates that make it look more modern and sporty. The sedan now measures 4,594 mm in length, making it slightly longer than the outgoing model.

At the front, the redesigned fascia features sleek Bi-LED projector headlamps connected by a stylish LED light bar. The new grille design adopts a matrix-mesh pattern that gives the car a wider and more premium appearance. The revised bumper with larger air intakes further enhances its sporty character.

From the side, the sedan gets newly designed 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that improve its road presence. At the rear, Honda has added updated wraparound LED tail lamps, a redesigned bumper and a subtle trunk spoiler that adds a touch of sportiness.

A new Crystal Black Pearl paint option has also been introduced, expanding the available colour choices for buyers.

Refreshed Cabin with More Technology

Inside the cabin, Honda has retained the elegant black-and-ivory dual-tone interior while introducing several new features that enhance convenience and comfort.

The biggest upgrade is the addition of a larger 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing seamless smartphone connectivity without cables.

Honda has also added ambient lighting along with a redesigned dashboard trim featuring a premium dark iron finish and 3D texture.

The cabin now feels more premium and modern, making it a better place to spend long hours on the road.

These systems make highway driving safer and less stressful, especially on long journeys.

Engine Options Remain Unchanged

Honda has retained the same reliable powertrain options that have made the City popular among Indian buyers.

The standard petrol model continues to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine producing 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission.

The engine continues to deliver a smooth and refined driving experience, making it suitable for both city and highway usage.

City e:HEV Hybrid Remains the Efficiency Champion

For buyers looking for maximum fuel efficiency, Honda continues to offer the City e:HEV strong hybrid.

The hybrid system combines a petrol engine with two electric motors and an e-CVT transmission. It can seamlessly switch between EV mode, hybrid mode and engine drive mode depending on driving conditions.

Extended Warranty for Hybrid Buyers

Honda is also offering additional peace of mind to hybrid customers.

Hybrid System Warranty 5 Years / 1 Lakh km

This extended coverage helps reduce ownership concerns and makes the hybrid version more attractive for long-term buyers.

Variant Line-up

The petrol-powered Honda City will be available in the following variants:

Variant Transmission Options
SV Manual
V Manual / CVT
ZX Manual / CVT
ZX+ Manual / CVT

The City e:HEV hybrid will continue to be offered exclusively in the ZX+ trim.

Honda ZR-V e:HEV Makes Its India Debut

Alongside the updated City, Honda also unveiled the all-new ZR-V e:HEV SUV for the Indian market.

Positioned as a premium global SUV, the ZR-V combines sporty styling, premium interiors and Honda’s latest hybrid technology. Internationally, the model has already achieved over 8 lakh sales since its launch in 2022.

The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid powertrain and is expected to sit above the Elevate in Honda’s Indian portfolio.

While pricing and launch timelines are yet to be announced, industry expectations suggest that the ZR-V may initially arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), targeting premium SUV buyers seeking a sophisticated hybrid alternative.

The 2026 Honda City facelift focuses on improving what buyers already appreciate about the sedan. The refreshed design, larger infotainment screen, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera and enhanced connectivity features help keep the City relevant in an increasingly competitive market.

At the same time, the introduction of the Honda ZR-V e:HEV signals Honda’s intent to strengthen its premium and hybrid vehicle lineup in India. For sedan buyers who still value comfort, refinement and efficiency over SUV trends, the updated Honda City remains one of the strongest options available in its segment.
